About This Internship

Arch’s 10-week summer internship program offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience in the insurance industry. It provides challenging learning experiences that serve as a foundation for interns to explore their career choices and to develop professional skills. Working alongside some of the most talented members of the specialty insurance industry, interns will gain relevant expertise in various aspects of the field, participate in learning activities and receive ongoing feedback.

About This Role

• Assist in managing the originations web portal through which customers originate loans and quotes. Software management includes Ratestar (quoting portal), Connect (Originating portal), Contact Center (AWS Based Call Center), Mobile App (iOS and Android) and Customer Support Center (CSC – Internal App for Arch Employees to administer customer data).

• Participate in sprint work pairing with other developers, QA and BSA team members. 

• Complete coding, testing and deploying web UIs, microservices and scripting CI pipelines.  Work with Spring Boot Java UI, Angular, Spring boot services, AWS Lambda, CI pipeline scripting. Development methodology involves paired programming with other developers. 

• Partner with QA Automation team to understand and contribute to automated testing of the applications. Work with Selenium scripts, Cypress scripting, Ready API and Load Runner.
  Partner with BSA to work on requirements, API documentation, prototyping and testing.

Qualifications

• Actively completing area of study in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, Information Security or related program.

• Experience with Database SQL queries.  
  Experience with web development preferred.

• Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher. 

• College level – current Sophomore, Junior, Senior or Graduate student.

• Entrepreneurial spirit along with the desire to be a continuous learner. 

• Team player who collaborates effectively.

• Self-starter who can work independently and deal effectively with multiple tasks/priorities in a fast-paced environment. 

Location & Work Arrangement 

• The program dates are June 2 - August 8, 2025.

• This position is classified as a hybrid position. You will work 2 days onsite and 3 days from home. 

• This position is in Greensboro, NC.

Timeline 

Arch summer internship positions will be posted from August 2024 and will be unposted when filled.  

Pay   

For individuals assigned to or hired to work in Greensboro, NC, the hourly rate is $22-30 as of the time of posting. The breadth in the range exists to accommodate students in specialized programs such as actuarial candidates and graduate students. Any actual rate offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, along with the education & qualifications of the candidate. The above range may be modified in the future. Intern position is eligible for select Arch benefits.
